SEO Relaunch: Ensure visibility during migrations

SEO relaunch support

A new website needs a carefully managed transition.

A new CMS, new URLs or a revised offering change more than the design. I support the relaunch from the initial inventory to post-launch checks and bring SEO requirements into the project before go-live.

Frequent Questions about the SEO Relaunch

When should SEO be included in a relaunch project?

Ideally, before information architecture, URL concept, and templates are finalized. The later SEO begins, the fewer structural decisions can be corrected without additional effort.

Can ranking losses be completely ruled out?

No. Search systems must re-crawl and evaluate changes. A clean migration concept reduces avoidable risks, but cannot guarantee unchanged positions.

How long should a relaunch be monitored?

Critical technical checks take place immediately. Rankings, indexing, and conversions should be systematically observed for at least several weeks, depending on size and crawling frequency.

Is a hosting access needed for a relaunch?

For concept and staging analysis not always. For server redirects, headers, log files, cache configuration, or a controlled rollback, hosting access may be required.

What happens to content that is not adopted?

Every relevant URL receives a deliberate decision. If there is an equivalent target page, it is directly redirected there. Without a suitable alternative, a clean 404 or 410 status may be more useful than a misleading redirect.

Can a previously failed relaunch be fixed?

Often, causes can be identified and important signals can be restored. For this, old data, redirects, content, indexing changes, and technical errors are compared. The earlier the analysis begins, the better the available evidence is.
